Welcome to Dosbarth 2's Class Page
Welcome to Class 2 we are a Year 1 and 2 mixed class. Mrs Hodson is the teacher and Mrs Taylor is the teaching assistant. We have 24 children in the class this year. Please read the class information below which will tell you all you need to know about class 2. If you would like to find out anything else then please don't hesitate to come and see me.
Autumn term 2018
This term our class topic is “Our Planet”. In class 2, we will be focusing on ‘Recycling’ and 'Light'. The children take ownership of their learning and I will provide various activities to cover important skills based on the children’s interests.
Forest school - The children will be taking part in weekly forest school sessions which will take place on a Wednesday afternoon. Children will be going outside in all weather conditions so please ensure they have waterproof coats and trousers, wellies, hats and gloves if cold. The forest can be muddy at times and we like to allow the children to really experience nature by making food in the mud kitchen, investigating under logs and using natural materials so please don't send them in with clothes that you don't want to get dirty!
PE will take place every week on Thursday afternoon so please ensure your child has their PE kit in school. They will need black shorts, a plain white T-shirt and pumps/trainers. Can you please ensure that all clothing is labelled, including shoes in order for missing things to be identified quickly.
Spring Term 2019
P.E and Forest school will remain on the same days this term. Please see class booklet for more information.
This term our topic will be revealed using 'Mantle of the Expert' a dramatic-inquiry approach to teaching and learning. More details will follow.
Summer Term 2019

This terms topic is all about "The Future of Our Health Campaign" the whole school will be focusing on different areas of the topic. Class 2 will be looking at Hydration, Eating Healthy and Exercise. So far the children have been using their research skills to find out about water and why it is important to us.
