Lots happening last week. We have now completed the tests and the children can rest easy for another year. We will know more in July about how the children have performed. I know that most of them had a really good go and we can ask for no more.
2 children from year 5 have been attending practise sessions for the Eisteddfod opening pageant, so look forward to seeing them on S4C! The other children are busy practising ready for their competitions, as we are now only 3 weeks away from the big week!
Attendance letters went out last week, your support with ensuring you do your best to get children to school is greatly appreciated.
Some of you may have wondered why you had had a letter, or that it seemed unusually low. This may have been due to the short half terms, which means the equivalent days off amounted to more. Should you wish for a printout, please ask.
Thanks to those who have supported the healthy eating push we are having. Many children are getting a number of dojos for trying with this. Can I take this opportunity to remind you that if you are doing a packed lunch to make sure it is healthy and does not contain sugar. At break times there is a tuck shop, where children can purchase a piece of fruit, so please take advantage of this school council venture.
Over the next week we will be sending details out for the different class trips, please could you sign and return forms as soon as possible. This helps us know how many children we have and the accurate cost. Also, the Stratford trip is only a month away, if you have not done so already please could you send in the balance of £105.
Music plays a big part in our school and we are very proud of our children's achievements. When parents/children undertook the lessons in September you signed up for the year. As a school, we are not in a position to fund those pupils who wish to finish halfway through the year. We have a limited amount of grant money and this subsidises the cost. If you do not pay then we are liable for the cost which can run into hundreds of pounds. The agreement signed in September was for the full academic year. Please be aware of this prior to taking more lessons next year.
To tie in with the Year 6 induction day the children will go to their new classes on June 23rd, a Thursday. Also, we will be holding a Nursery Induction evening on Wednesday the 15th and weather permitting the Sports Day on Friday the 17th. The school self-evaluation day is to be confirmed in the newsletter so please keep a lookout tomorrow.
Finally, remember the Funday and if you would like a stall to let us know.
That's All For Now!
