On Friday we had our sports day. A big thanks to all my staff and the PTA for their help and to you for your support on the day. The vent went well again and congratulations to Ty Glas, who were this years winners. As I said on Friday, we calculate points through the year in order for there not be an over emphasis on the sports side but also on the effort and academic achievement the children gain through the year.
Class dojo codes were sent out last week. As we had such a hectic week the staff probably did not give out many points, so if you notice this then that is the reason.
This week is a little calmer. Year 6 visit Loggerheads tomorrow as part of their transition work. On Tuesday we have some children visiting Flint High. On Thursday we also have a parent focus meeting(see the website for minutes and agendas).
In our governors meeting last Thursday we appointed a new Chair and Vice Chair of Governors. This was because of the sad appeasing of Mr Hunter and the recent resignation of Mr Howorth. The governors and I would like to place on record our thanks to Mr Howorth for his long service on the governing body. Mr Mark Albiston is our new Chair of Governors and Mr David Barnes the Vice Chair.
Finally, there was a lengthy note in the newsletter regarding Chicken Pox. We have had a few cases now and need the support of parents in ensuring the number of cases are minimised. As Chicken Pox sits unnoticed in the respiratory tract for up to 2 weeks before spots, please keep an eye out for your child feeling ill as this may be the chicken pox. It has been transmitted through coughing etc, so we have reinforced hands over mouth and washing hands. Please reinforce this at home.
