Well a VERY busy week this week we had a fantastic trip for class 4 to Theatre Clwyd, where the children watched a production of the Greek Myth 'Minotaur'. They then took part in a workshop. On Tuesday the fantastic Mark Griffiths gave the children a show on 'Yes I can' a ventriloquism show that reminded the children to TRY and HAVE a go!
Year 6 visit Loggerheads on Wednesday, today, and Class 3 visit Hendre woods.
On Thursday it's the excitement of Moving up day' more details will be in the newsletter on the arrangements. We look forward to welcoming our new nursery children and hope they settle in to our school.
Friday afternoon is Sports Day and the weather is set fair, so we look forward to a good afternoon. Again, more detail will be in the newsletter on Wednesday. There will be refreshments available on the day, courtesy of Mr Muff. The children all be sitting at the side of class 2 and I would be grateful if parents would allow children to make sure that they return to that area after their races as there will be a break in the middle.
A first reminder of our school fun day which is on the 28th of June at 1 pm raffle tickets are still available and thanks to those who have already sent for more!
I have been busy in an ESTYN inspector course this week and am due to be part of an inspection team before the end of term. So there we are another hectic week, see you soon!
Thanks for your continued support.
Noswaith Da pawb. A very busy couple of weeks coming up, please keep in touch through Twitter and newsletters.
This week class 2 visited the Welsh Jambori in Connha's Quay and had a fab time, unfortunately the cricket competition for class 4 was cancelled and is due to be held this Friday, further details to follow. Class 4 have also been out today and have spent a 3/4 transition day in Mold Alun in preparation for moving up.
On Thursday our new nursery parents will be meeting with us and we look forward to adding more children to our ever growing school.
The World cup starts on Thursday and we are holding a non-uniform day with the request of a £1 donation toward the Tombola stand on our Summer Fete (June 28th)
The idea is to wear the colour of a country taking part in the World Cup i.e. Yellow for Brazil, Blue and White for Argentina and so on.
We have a new app of the week for the next couple of weeks. Please refer to the app of the week heading on the home page for a video to demonstrate our app.
We have had a 'switch on' of our new Wi-Fi and you will notice over the coming weeks that more and more pictures of pupils at work will appear on the site and Twitter, in line with our social media policy (available in policies and grants section)
We had a productive parents meeting last week and I would like to thank those who attended for their views and ideas. I really believe that this will become a really productive group in the future.
Diolch pawb and speak next week!
Welcome back to a hectic term! We have a mass of events and trips this term, so please take time to look through the website. We publish our newsletter weekly, on a Wednesday, for consistency. All newsletters are placed on the website. We also have a new menu this week so if you do not have your menu then please look in the menus bar.
We have a parent committee meeting tomorrow at 5 pm and I look forward to seeing those parents who've expressed an interest in this. The newsletter today has given dates for this term out as there are many! Our sports day is aimed for Friday 20th June in the afternoon. In addition, there are separate letters due for class 4 and class 1 (N and R) about invites to some of our events this term. We have a new meeting for our new Nursery parents next Thursday the 12th at 6 p:m.
Our School Fete will be held on the 28th of June at 1 p:m not 2 p:m as previously stated. On the 19th of June we will be having our 'Moving Up' day where pupils go to their September classes and our Year 6 pupils move to their high schools for the day. You will have noticed that we have placed padlocks on the gates. This measure was only taken to continue our provision for keeping our children safe during the day. The lock is undone when there are no children on the yard. Look forward to another successful term. Speak next week!
Hello, I am Mr Caughter the Head teacher. I hope to give you an insight into the daily life of our school. In addition, I will endeavour to keep you up to date with all our events in school!
