The first item is parent evening. We have for the past couple of years, run a 10 minute session in November, which is not the norm. We do this so that you are kept fully informed on the first term of school. We do however, rely on your help that you keep to the 10 minute slot. I will have to enforce this this year as many parents have not kept to the time. please do not be offended if your childs teacher ends the meeting after 10 minutes. Should you require further time then, as we run an open door policy, then please arrange another time.
The other change this week will be the school yard. As I stated on the last newsletter we will be introducing a drop at the gate plan for ALL children at the start of the day. As we are growing as a school, it is more difficult for staff to be sure of who is who. As many parents and extended family drop children off it is important we take steps to ensure safety. As this has also been recommended, and is applied in most Flintshire schools, we will be implementing this week. Please help us by allowing your child onto the yard form the gate. If you need the office, then please speak to myself on the gate. Another member of staff will be on the school yard with the children. You can leave money, etc with me and/or other member of staff on the gate.
I hope you enjoyed the Harvest service, if you could hear it! It is something we will have addressed by the Christmas performances of Key Stage 2. There has had to be a slight change of date and I ill tell you about this in the newsletter. We will also be sending newsletters on a MONDAY as opposed to Friday.
Parent Governor election sheets will also be distributed with the newsletter tomorrow so please take the opportunity to cast a vote.
Finally, Health Week this week the children will be taking part in a number of different activities aimed at developing an understanding of keeping healthy. As part of our Health week we will also be stopping any unhealthy snack at break time. Children will be asked to leave this snack until lunchtime. Again your support in helping us with this will be much appreciated.
See you all tomorrow
