Yes, as the title suggests I am now writing a blog for my last half term in Ysgol Owen Jones. It is a little sad, however, also exciting and I look forward to welcoming Mr. Caughter to meet many of you over the next month or so.
As always this term is a very busy one. I will remind you that there is a training day in June on Friday the 24th.
So let's start with next week and we have a visit from Mark Griffiths and his summer show. Always popular with the children. Mr. Ellis will be visiting from the Alun on Tuesday to see our Year 6's. On Wednesday the cricket team are playing in Buckley, so we wish them luck. There are NO clubs this week as we plan for the next half term. There is a possibility that drama will go ahead, as usual, I will confirm in the newsletter tomorrow.
So this last week began with immense pride in the girls that represented the school fantastically well at the Urdd National Eisteddfod. They began the whole week with a fantastic performance and I sat watching with great pride. Da Iawn Grace, Amelia, Elinor, Stephanie a Nerys. In addition, Nerys also competed in the individual event and I am reliably informed she did equally well. My thanks also to Mrs Liz Jones, who has organised all of the Urdd events, fantastically well I might add!, and Mrs Skillander the brass teacher who supported the girls throughout. I do hope that this will continue next year as it has been a great success and experience for all the children that took part.
A busy term as I said. We have transition (moving up) day on the 23rd of June, sports day planned for Friday the 17th of June. Also, plans are moving forward for the Northop Fun day on July the 9th, so please keep our eyes peeled for more information.
Next Monday the 13th, we will be holding a self-evaluation meeting in the hall. All of you are welcome. The document you will need to look at prior to the meeting is under the school self-evaluation tab above. Please focus on Key Question 1 and 2 and the beginning of 3. I look forward to welcoming as many of you as we can.
That's all for now. Look out for the newsletter tomorrow.
