This half term the national tests take place so please keep an eye out for the dates which are mid May. We will be sending a newsletter out this week with all of the dates on it. Whilst the tests are informative they are not the be all and end all in terms of assessment. Staff take a long time analysing children's skills and the tests data gives us a small shot of their skills and abilities. They are difficult for many children as they are unique in the way they are administered and the time they are allowed. You can help at home by completing some of the test material we have on the website, in the Literacy and Numeracy section.
Here is a link to the Learning Wales website:
Children have 30 minutes to complete the tests, however the above are only practice and would certainly help the process. You can access similar Reading material form this site.
Clubs, as always, will be decided by the children in the first week back and we will let you know in the newsletter what clubs will be on. As it is the Summer term we will be asking for the balances for our trip to Cardiff in the next couple of weeks.
So an exciting term ahead. All classes topics are 'Living Things' and staff will send out some skills grids for you to know what we are covering this term until the Summer. I have now finished my secondment and will be back in school this term.
See you all on Tuesday.
