Another busy week ahead, it is difficult for us to keep on top of everything that is going on in school, so goodness knows how hard it must be for you, but here we go!
Another full week last week. On Monday, we had a look at the school self-evaluation for this academic year. My thanks to those parents who joined us, I am grateful. You can still take part by looking at the self-evaluation document on the school website. Year 6 visited Loggerheads for a transition project with the Alun on Wednesday and they enjoyed it until the rain! On that subject, it was rain that prevented our Sports Day going ahead. We have re-scheduled for July 1st, a Friday, and hope you can attend. On Thursday, we watched Wales be disappointingly defeated in their Euro 2016 game. The children, however, did enjoy the experience. On Wednesday evening, we also welcomed our new Nursery children, and a couple of new reception children, we hope they will be very happy at Ysgol Owen Jones.
So this week. Tomorrow class 1 and 2 will be on a school trip to Greenacres looking at how we and other animals stay alive. Let's hope from some nice weather. On Tuesday, we are being assessed for the Eco Flag award and am very hopeful we will be successful. Mrs Wynn and the eco-committee have worked really hard to gather the evidence for this and I hope their hard work will be rewarded. Those of you who give healthy snacks are also part of the assessment so thank you for engaging with that initiative. On Wednesday I will be out in a meeting all day, in the meantime, we will be visited by pupils from the Alun to talk abut refugee week.
Thursday is an exciting day as it is our moving up day. The morning will be spent with Septembers classes and will give the children an opportunity to sample their new classes and teachers.
Thursday will be the last day this week as there is a TRAINING DAY on Friday and therefore NO SCHOOL.
Music letters have gone out and we need to have this ready for the end of the week.
There will be a letter from the PTA next week regarding stalls at the Sunday on July 9th. Please send in any toys, items for Bric and Brac and bottles for the bottle stall.
Next week will be the Class 4 residential, if you have children in class 4 and have not settled your contribution, then we would be grateful if you could.
Speak next week
