Another week gone, and a great week, particularly, for class 3. They had a fab time in Nant BH and I was very proud of the way the children conducted themselves. They were well behaved and well mannered and enjoyed themselves sensibly and safely.
The newsletter came out on Friday and of particular importance this week was the section on supporting children at home. We will be running a maths workshop on supporting maths this half term. This will be in the morning and evening on the 4th of MARCH. In addition we are also requesting that children work really hard to read at home. The Welsh government is having a real push on supporting children read at home. In school children get many opportunities to read, however, they sometimes see this more as a necessity than for enjoyment. Reading at bedtime helps in many ways and also allows children to enjoy a book together. The research says that children are 13 TIMES more likely to succeed in school and life if they read both at home and in school. This is staggering! I know that many of you do read at home, but if you could sign your child's book this will help us to praise and give out certificates. There is a £5 book token for the 1st 100 reads, and then after 300 reads.
This week our Nursery are heading out for their first theatre trip! Should be fun.
Look forward to speaking to you next week
